Making it happen

These girls are in need of urgent help, we need someone who can assist in sponsoring them for high school education, they have a very touching story to tell. currently they are schooling at Nguirubi Mixed Sec school under the assistance of the Head teacher Mrs Gitau. These and others are pictures of the progress in the Ndeiya project. we had a feeding program to the kids and gave them clothes and shoes with the help of our volunteers, we are actually making an extreme makeover. We've not stopped and actually things are getting better. To join in this worthy cause and be part of Change makers, please write us an Email describing how you want to do it. muunganointl@ymail.com

NEXT LEVEL

Hello guys, am sure you have been doing great. We are cool here at muungano, still pushing the campaign to change lives to the next level. we've been having several volunteers in this month of December and sincerely speaking they have been great with great impact to our projects.
THIS IS ONE OF THE PROJECTS PHOTO TAKEN AT ALPHA JOY IN NDEIYA ON THE 3RD 0F DECEMBER So far we have started visiting IDPs that were displaced by the post election violence to give them food, give them hope of living and offering medical care to the malnutritioned kids and pregnant mothers, we have discovered that the rate of HIV/AIDs is rising due to the poverty found in this place. in this case we still need more volunteers/helpers who have expertise in fields of medical and are willing to change a life and make a difference. Others with a big heart are also welcome to make a difference in lives of the less fortunate kids/orphans and mothers. The final news is that we have a new, more competence and good looking website where every detail has been well explained.follow this link to get there, http://muunganointernational.weebly.com HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY YEAR 2012

Change is Inevitable

We,ve started our outreach program at the Naivasha IDP camp, with the help of our volunteers to make the lives of the people that suffered the post election violence after effect until now, with the deteriorating and unfavouring living conditions resulting to high rate of HIV and aids and finally resulting to high numbers of orphans who are hopeless and desperate in life. check out the pics of one of our outreach program open day. Our Ndeiya village orphanage by the name Alpha Joy care center is experiencing an extreme makeover like in helping the kids and the surrounding on community after receiving volunteers from out side the country. we believe that leaving a mark into a needing heart and a desperate one will never go unrewarded.
All my life i have been brought up in this small village called Ndeiya with great poverty and suffering to a point of going to bed empty bellied like with no food and the next day you are expected to go to school very early and learn, i am privileged to have parents and i thank God for them, but i really went through hard time and one day i thought to my self "I am suffering to the highest degree and i have parents, what about them that do not have?" and the thought lingered in my mind for long. God blessed me finnaly and i completed my high school education and went to college just with lots of problems loans form friends. i prayed to God that he may change situations in Ndeiya and Kenya at large, and he gave me that burden to trigger change, change the environment, change the surrounding and all that is in it will be changed. And as like one man said, Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. i am the one i've been waiting for. i am the change that i seek. and as i say that change is inevitable, the time has come to bring it to Ndeiya community to trigger a difference, self sustaining projects, income generating projects for the youths, creating awareness that one should not deny himself, because he can become anything he wants to become, creating HIV awareness to decrease the rate of deaths and the rates of orphans respectively with the assistance of you volunteers i know we are able to do this, "Bringing change to Ndeiya community." Hunger Threatens Again

Former Limuru legislator George Nyanja has asked the government to drill for water as a lasting solution for drought-prone areas. "The government should give water to the starving people as they will be able to grow food to sustain their lives," said Nyanja. He was speaking at Ndeiya village in Limuru where he distributed food to more than 2,000 people facing starvation after their maize crop was spoiled by unfavourable weather. The cold weather in the area has badly affected crops. However, Nyanja warned the residents not to sell their already harvested maize but keep it for future use. "It is unfortunate that people here in Ndeiya are seeking for food assistance whereas they sold their maize," said Nyanja. Nyanja who is aspiring for governorship position in Kiambu county said that the government should rehabilitate Kikuyu springs which is 10kilometers deep of water to be used first by kiambu residents rather than people from Nairobi alone. "Kikuyu springs is just afew kilometers from Ndeiya and yet the people here are not benefiting from the water and are also affected by drought when sunny season comes," said Nyanja.

Creation of food Security

Dadaab refugee camp in north-eastern Kenya continues to receive large influxes of refugees mainly from Somalia with about 30,000 new arrivals in June alone. Kenya currently has about 447,000 refugees with Dadaab hosting about 368,000 and Kakuma in north-western Kenya about 79,000. Most of the refugees arriving in Dadaab have high malnutrition rates, having walked long distances with little or no food and water. WFP is providing the new arrivals with a 15-day ration of food at reception centres as they await registration after which they are included in the regular food register for refugees. WFP also provides refugees with supplementary food assistance for malnourished children, pregnant and nursing mothers, in addition to a mid-morning meal for all primary and pre-primary school children and a take home ration for girls. School meals remain an important safety net for many communities. WFP is providing school meals for 670,500 pre-primary and primary school children in arid and semi arid areas and in the slums in Nairobi. The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Education is also feeding 610,000 of school children through the Home Grown School Feeding programme. We as an organization is overlooking how we can curb this by initiating advanced farming methods to prevent this in the coming years and t guarantee food security. Any Volunteers out there whoa are expatriates in Farming methods are welcome to help this project kick off.

food supplies run out.

The crisis in the Horn of Africa continues to worsen as food supplies run out. Children are dying because of a lack of food and clean water.
In parts of Northern Kenya, 37% of children are suffering from acute malnutrition, far above the 15% World Health Organisation’s threshold for an emergency situation.

This year, the area’s rainfall average was less than one-third of the average from the last 15 years. In Kenya, water is so scarce that families are walking up to 15 kilometres to find water sources. Combined with a 60 per cent increase in the price of maize it means that families are on the move in search of food. The effect of the ongoing drought is expected to get worse.

It a vital thing that we as the world start to do something, we have therefore started a cause and we are looking for people who can donate 20$ per month to help bring into a halt this big problem that is facing East Africa. You are open to click our donate link and give any amount which will be appreciated for, if you can also sponsor a kid you are welcome to do so since we have many kids that cant afford education because of their family financial background.
